In Loving Memory of David Reimer Bast, who passed away on Friday, July 12, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer at Health Sciences North, Sudbury, just shy of his 76th birthday. He is survived by his soulmate and best friend for 41 years, Sharon Elizabeth Lumsden. Son of John and Helen Bast both predeceased. Brother of Ruth VanKooten (Tony), Robert Bast (Anna) Esther Bast (predeceased) and Rita Stanley (William-predeceased). Stepfather to Richard Regimbal (Rosita) and Raymond Regimbal (Christy). Step-grandfather to Russell Regimbal, Raven Leigh Garlock (predeceased), Brittani Williamson and Brooklyn Regimbal and step great- grandfather to Mikaela Garlock.  Adored uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. Dave was a kind and generous human being. Always ready with his humour and loved to give hugs. In his younger years, fishing was his greatest hobby as he spent many hours out on the lake. He had a fondness for collecting diecast cars and trucks and spent hours recording and cataloguing his collection. Dave practiced Taoist Tai Chi for several years and was quite adept at this art until health problems interfered. He spent many years as a truck driver/heavy equipment operator. To know Dave was to love him. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. A Celebration of Life will follow at a later date.
