Guay, Susan Ann

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Susan Ann Guay, 61 years on Friday, November 3, 2017 at Maison McCulloch Hospice. Beloved wife and partner of Sylvain Ducharme. Loving mother of Robert Gauthier (Magda Iglewski), Jason Gauthier (Stacey Symons) and Jennifer Thornton (Stephan Thornton). Cherished grandmother of Justin, Samuel, Grace, Amélie, Zachary, Mathew, Marek, Joshua, Izabela, Emma, Sarah and Brielle. Dearly missed by her sister Helen (Edward Connors). Born in Sudbury, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Laura (nee Williams) Guay. Susan was a proud and dedicated Educator with the Rainbow District School Board as well as the Owner/Operator of Paddle Pals. As someone who had a great respect and appreciation for the outdoors, some of her greatest pleasures in life came from the times she was able to spend with family and friends camping, canoeing and exploring the beauties of nature. An accomplished canoeing instructor, Susan’s passing has “left ripples across lakes, rivers and the hearts of many”. She leaves behind a rich legacy of a true leader, possessing a very strong work ethic supported by her thoughtfulness and compassion for all. In keeping with Susan’s request, there will be no visitation or services. Donations to Maison McCulloch Hospice in Susan’s memory would be greatly appreciated.
