In honor of Jerry, a Celebration of his Life will be held Friday, October 28, 2022 at Holy Redeemer Church (1887 Bancroft Dr, Sudbury, ON P3B 1S7) at 10:00 am with a reception to follow.
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Jerome “Jerry” Nicholls, 65 years with family by his side on Monday, March 16, 2020 at Health Sciences North after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Beloved husband, soulmate and best friend of Brenda Nicholls (nee Roy). Proud and devoted father of Jeffery, Jenna (Stephane Therrien) and Joey Roy (Krystal). Loving brother of Ronnie (Ricky predeceased), Lois (Joe predeceased), Joey (Irene), Marion (Dan) and Philip (Mairead both predeceased). Born in Creighton on April 17, 1954 he was the son of the late James and Eileen (nee Lefoley) Nicholls. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Danaka and Ryley Roy, who loved him so very much, as well as by numerous nieces, nephews, friends and extended family members. Jerry had a love and devotion for his family that could be seen and felt by everyone around him, his infectious smile will be something that those who knew and loved him will forever remember. A well-known and respected engineer, Jerry owned and operated his Engineering firm for many years. He had a passion for his career, whether Civil, Structural, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and possessed a willingness to share this knowledge in order to help those around him. Jerry was a selfless man who always put others first, his kindness and compassion will be his legacy that will live on in all of us forever. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Health Sciences North, 4th Floor Oncology Unit, especially to Julia (RN), the compassion and thoughtfulness for Jerry as well as the family will never be forgotten. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no visitation. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made directly to the Northern Cancer Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
