In Loving Memory of Earl Wood, 71 years, who passed away on Monday, October 19, 2020, at Health Sciences North. Beloved husband and best friend of 50 years to Karen Wood (nee Laakso). Loving father to Melissa Wood (Melanie) and Alison Wood. Cherished grandfather to Jordan Spadafore. Dear brother to Beverly Sauvé (Don Wright), Millie Colton (Dan), Bobby (Sue), Dianna Collard (Rob), Brent (Rosanne), Brenda Wood, and Barbara Defelice (Greg). Dear son of the late Robert and Simone (nee Roy) Wood. Special in-law to Susan – predeceased, Nancy Trottier (Jack), Allan Laakso (Elaine), Gary Laakso (Jen), Linda Siemer (Mark), Donna Boutet (Ron) and Shelley Laakso. Earl will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Earl retired from Falconbridge after 30 years of mining, which he took on various health and safety roles. In his earlier years, he enjoyed playing sports such as baseball and broomball. In later years he enjoyed watching his grandson Jordan play hockey. An avid outdoorsman, who spent his time fishing, hunting, and relaxing at his camp on Onaping Lake. Passionate about carpentry, his craftsmanship is his family’s pride. Earl and Karen spent the last seven winters in Florida enjoying the sunshine, making new friends and memories. He was a social man who appreciated a great conversation and was always interested in learning. Earl enjoyed life and all it’s offerings. He was a well-respected friend, co-worker, and acquaintance. Due to the current pandemic, a gathering will be limited to family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made directly to Pet Save or the United Way.
Dear Karen and family members, it is with a saddened heart to find out about your loss, (Bruna told me late) I send you my condolences, and offer any assistance I can give.
Please call if need me for anything.
I have been praying for all family and friends.

I’m glad you all had a good time.
