O’Brien, Judy Ann

O’Brien, Judy Ann (72 years) passed away peacefully on Friday, September 25, 2015 at the Maison Vale Hospice.
Loving wife of over 33 years to Dr. R. Donald Longmore of Copper Cliff. Predeceased by her parents Dennis (Jr.) and Betty (Yvonne Goulah) O’Brien and infant sister Tanis Marie. Survived by her sister Vicki Lynn Ryan (Clifford) of Sudbury. Aunt to Kim Ryan, Dennis (Cindy) and their girls (Brittany, Samantha, Talia, Kaitlin) and Tommy Ryan of Stratford. Special god-mother to Wendy Chaloux, Kim Ryan, Jordan Douglas and treasured friend of Anne Chaloux.
Judy was educated at St. Thomas Separate School, Marymount College and Sudbury High. She graduated from Laurentian University with a double major in Religion and Anthropology.
After working many years for T. Eaton Co., she chose a career in nursing, working in North Bay, London and Sudbury before travelling Northeastern Ontario with the Red Cross Blood Donor Clinics.
Her green thumb made anything blossom. She was an excellent homemaker and cook who treasured her time spent at the family camp at Lake Penage until poor health intervened.
An avid mystery reader she also enjoyed travel and nature documentaries. When sleep evaded her, she listened to classical music and closely followed world events with the BBC overseas news.
She will be sadly missed by Art and Ann Frechette of Kenora, Bob (Lorraine) Longmore of Sudbury and Ian (Anne) Longmore of Oakville and their families.
A special thank you to Mike Bois for his assistance, to Betty Ann and Terri of Bayshore, Claire and Lee-Ann of CCAC and the staff at Walford on the Park. Heartfelt appreciation to the caring team at Maison Vale Hospice for their committed devotion and attention.
At Judy’s request there will be no visitation or service. Donations may be made in Judy’s memory to the Maison Vale Hospice or a charity of your choice.
