Armstrong, Perry

Perry Armstrong passed away suddenly at the age of 62.

Perry was predeceased by his parents, Allen Armstrong & Shirley (McRoberts), his son Sam Armstrong. Perry is remembered with love by his wife Debbie Armstrong (Flegel). His children, Roy Armstrong and Lyle Armstrong (Sarah), Bobby Coderre (Aimee), Saleana Gray (Christopher), Brian Coderre, and Marissa Smith. His grandchildren, Isabella Coderre, Brydon Weiss, and Karma Coderre. His Sisters Bea Hartzke (Max) and Beth Scott (Don). As well as many of his friends and extended family.

An infectious laugh, readiness to help others and desire to spread fun were Perry’s signature traits. He was a wonderful storyteller and could keep an audience enthralled for hours. First and foremost, Perry loved his family and friends. He was always ready to help anyone in need or lend a hand. He loved fishing, going to the cottage, old cars, cutting wood, walking in the bush, and his dogs, but most of all, he loved his family.

Perry was the kind of man who held onto friends for a lifetime. He held them close and loved them all. He loved life. He loved hard, worked hard and played hard. He always said you have to take life and squeeze it; do what you can to enjoy life while you can.

Most know him for being a part of North-Way Chrysler for 35 years. However, he was also a volunteer fireman with the Coleman fire department and also got his AZ license to drive transport. He ran for council a few times for Coleman Township and performed volunteer work with the Cancer society, the Curling Club, local horse shows, and many others.

Perry would always do his best to help a neighbour or friend. If he could make something better he would try to do that whether it was with playing games at a gathering or moving the snow for a neighbour. Now people know him as a landlord or the janitor at the Cobalt Post Office. He will be sorely missed and was surely taken too soon. There is a big hole left where he stood.

  1. I knew him as a son, a brother, a family man but also a cousin who would help you no matter what. He will be missed but definitely never forgotten.

  2. Just thinking how lucky we were to meet Perry and get to know him at Anima Nipissing. So many times I’d look up when I heard the sound of a motor to see Suzie perched a the front of Perry’s boat.
    I’ll miss that.
