Moe passed suddenly, Friday, April 22nd, 2016, at the age of 45. He is survived by his Mother, Diane Ouelette (Denis), his Father, Gerald(Cheryle) and his brother Roger (Stephanie), his cousin Julie Mallette (Randy Corcoran), with whom he was very close and who was like a sister to him and by many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is also survived by his step-siblings, Richard (Crystal), Tammy (Pat Boudreau), Shilynn (Mathieu St. Germain) and by a great many friends, a number of whom are from British Columbia where he grew up. His most prized possessions were his guitar and his chef’s knives, the tools with which he created great art in the kitchen and for an audience. He had a phenomenal memory for the music and lyrics of many genres of songs and could keep a crowd entertained for hours and fed for days. His loss will be hugely felt at the annual August Pig Roast in McFarlane Lake. He took great pride in whatever task he was engaged in. He worked hard and was particularly loyal to the Doghouse, its patrons, and its owners, his friends Leslie and James. He was very proud of being godfather and always reveled in hearing stories of his friends’ and cousins’ children’s antics.
He loved fishing, cold beer, and Wild Turkey.
He was wise, witty and his sarcasm was biting and legendary.
His humour was unforgettable, his intelligence incisive.
He was very committed to family and never missed an opportunity to gather with his many aunts, uncles and cousins, who will forever miss his wit, his music and the joy of his company.
People loved Moe. He will be greatly missed.
A celebration of life mass will be held at Ste. Anne des Pins Tuesday, May 3 at 10:30am.
A gathering for family and friends will be held at The Doghouse in Azilda at 2:00 pm on May 3.
The family wishes to thank Leslie and James, owners of The Doghouse, for their compassion and generosity.
May the sorrow you feel today be eased by the precious memories you all have of Maurice
