In loving memory of Viviane Diane Quesnel (nee Rochon) who passed away unexpectedly at the Ottawa Civic Hospital on May 30, 2016 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Loving wife of Maurice Quesnel (predeceased in 2004). Cherished mother of three sons, Gaetan, Alain and Marc. Viviane was the daughter of Hermenegilde and Colombe Rochon (both predeceased). She was born in Timmins and moved to Sudbury in 1956 while in her early teens. She and Maurice were married in 1962. Predeceased by sisters Emerise Derkson (Neil), Yolande Dube and Rita Guindon (Larry), as well as brothers Reontal and Onile (Anita). Viviane is survived by sisters Marie Lou Aubin (Clement), Mercedes, Rejeanne Baker (Wayne), Barbara Ingram (Jack), as well as brothers Damien, Rejean, Yvon (Irene) and Claude (Bonnie). Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. Viviane was an active person who worked for many years in the Sudbury Daily Star Circulation Department. She also spent a number of years working at the Regency Residence where she was loved by the clients for the love and care she provided to them. Viviane enjoyed the long walks that she regularly took with her loving sister Barbara. She also enjoyed fishing to the extent that she still holds the family record for catching a 34 lb pike in the Spanish River. Her canine friend Sacha gave her great comfort throughout her illness and she misses Viviane a great deal. At Viviane’s request there will be no visitations. A family gathering will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Maison Vale Hospice would be greatly appreciated.
My condolences to her family and loved ones. I didn’t have a chance to get to know my Aunt Viviane very well but I hear she was loved by many. Nice hearing about her passion for fishing and her trophy catch! My prayers go out to her boys. Love, your cousin, Linda Rochon, Windsor
