It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Yvonne Coulombe (nee Johnson) of Mt. Elgin in her home in Monetville on May 21st, 2021, at age 63. Beloved wife of Miguel Coulombe of 47 years. Yvonne was born on January 23rd, 1958, to parents Laverne Johnson (deceased 1987) and Doris Johnson (deceased 1987) of Mt. Elgin. Yvonne lived her 63 years to the fullest. Her most important accomplishments are being the proud and loving wife to Miguel Coulombe, and mother of daughters Amy Coulombe (Terry Moffatt), and Melissa Duguay (Ray Duguay). Yvonne was the adoring Grandmother of Taylor Duguay, Danielle Duguay, Nathan Duguay and Cassius Mulder. Husband, Children and Grand Children will forever carry Yvonne’s love for them in their hearts. In addition, Yvonne was a dedicated and loyal sister to her 5 siblings and their spouses. She will be forever missed by Cliff and Bonnie Johnson of London, Monica and Paul Seys of Beachville, Rhonda Overholt and Bob Minogue of Centreville, Bradley Johnson (deceased 2019) of London, and Mark Johnson and Laurie Smythe of London. Aunt to many Nieces and Nephews, a loyal friend to everyone she met. She will be truly missed but never forgotten by all who knew her. Yvonne will be remembered for her willingness to always lend a helping hand, her loyalty, honesty, and dependability. She was the rarest type of woman who knew how to love with her whole heart. She was strong, independent, and always true to herself. She had the kindest soul as will attest all those that have had the privilege to cross paths along the way. She was a very positive role model in life “Happy-Go-Lucky” and could always be found with a smile on her face no matter the circumstance. Yvonne loved Nature, wildlife and spending her time outdoors fishing, gardening, and landscaping. Yvonne had many talents from working with wood, building, refinishing, upholstery and restoring furniture. She was a perfectionist at what ever she did. The most hard-working woman anyone has ever known. One of her passions was riding on the Harley with her loving husband Miguel. Those closest to her will remember her love for music. Her number one song had always been “Runaway Train” by Soul Asylum. In extreme sadness, it was way too soon for her to take that one-way ticket on that Runaway Train.
Yvonne and I met in 1973 and became instant friends. Her husband Miguel and my husband Maurice were brothers. We lived in the same apartment building on different floors. We spent many hours together each day laughing and sharing stories which I still carry in my heart. Yvonne had the heart of a lioness…once you became her friend you had no doubt you were loved.
