HARMAN, Sidney Lynn “Chum”

In Loving Memory of Sidney Lynn Harman, fondly known as Chum. He was born on July 1, 1952 and peacefully passed away at the Espanola Regional Hospital and Health Centre on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at the age of 68. Lynn was born in Blind River to Marshall and Mary Oneta Harman and he grew up in Walford, Ontario. Lynn spent a lot of time working alongside his dad on the farm and with masonry work of laying blocks and bricks. He was a hard worker with a strong work ethic. Chum loved spending time at the family camp swimming and fishing but with a passion for competition Lynn was a Special Olympian which helped him to share his gifts, skills and friendship with those around him. His hobbies were crafting, rug hooking, gardening and in his later years building bird houses with his brother Mike. Chum painted the bird houses with his nieces Tracy Landriault and Teresa Minten. His quad brought great pleasure to Chum as he toured the farm. Lynn was predeceased by his parents Marshall and Mary Oneta (nee Whalen) Harman, by his sisters Dolores Saftenberg (Morris) and Linda O'Halleran (Bryan). He leaves behind his sister Darlene Landriault and brothers Mike Harman (Marie) and Pat Harman. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. The family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses at Espanola Regional Hospital and Health Centre, as well as the workers from Bay Shore Health Services and his family physician Dr. Larochelle from Spanish for years of care. Due to Covid restrictions a private Service will be held at the St. Francis Church in Walford for the immediate family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lynn‘s memory can be made directly to the Walford Community Centre.
