It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Cathy surrounded by her loved ones on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at the age of 65. Beloved wife of James Blanchard. Formerly married to Herbert Belong (predeceased). Best friend to furry companion Kodiak. Daughter of June and Albert Niemi (predeceased). Dear sister of Jack & Jen, Joe & Jackie, Gina & Mel, Dottie and Myrtle and Albert Jr (predeceased). Will be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. Mourned by Katie, Karen, Aiden (Rag a muffin), Kenny and Roger. Sadly missed by Aurore and Dolly. Cathy was a beautiful, strong, and loving woman. She cared deeply about her friends and family, to whom she would do anything for. A celebration of life will be held in the summer of 2022.
I am so sorry to hear of Cathy’s passing. My condolences to her family and friends. I went to GFSS with Cathy and remember many warm summer nights talking with her outside where she lived at the time. She was so easy to talk with; a warm, very loving and caring person. I didn’t have much contact with her after high school, sadly, and tried to find her on social media many years later, with no success.
I know she will be missed by her family. Prayers of comfort, peace and strength during this sad time.
