In loving memory of Floyd Johnson, 87 years, who passed away peacefully on August 5th, 2016 just short of his 88th birthday. Lifelong resident of the City of Greater Sudbury he was born on August 13th, 1928 to the late Arthur Johnson and Mildred Boucher. Proud father, father-in-law, grandpa and most recently great-grandfather. He is survived by his son Eric, daughter-in-law Judy (nee Warriner), granddaughters Stephanie, Cheryl and Erica and great-granddaughter Hannah. He is also survived by his daughter Judy and former wife Elizabeth (nee Kilby). Brother to Clarence (Charmaine), Emily (Albert) both predeceased and Marion (late Ken). Caring uncle to Allen, Brian, Charlene, David, Dennis, Gary, Janet, Arthur, Brenda, Carol, Wayne and Karen. Partner to Shirley Gratton. Floyd was a big sports fan; he loved watching curling, in his younger years he was an active member of the Sudbury Curling Club and remained a lifelong fan of the Toronto Blue Jays baseball team. His first career was proudly working with his family at Johnson Cartage Ltd. before spending his later years managing his livestock farm Atlastaranch in Wahnapitae. He received many accolades for his regular participation in the Santa Claus Parade with his team of horses; Pat & Pete. He had a great love for animals and the outdoors. Floyd lived his life to the fullest, always welcoming a good time, he had an amazing sense of humor and a very generous and positive attitude. Unwell in recent years Floyd was most recently well cared for at the Finlandia Village. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. If desired, the family would greatly appreciate donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or the Sudbury & District Branch of Ontario SPCA and Humane Society.
My sincere condolences to Floyd’s son Danny, his wife Anita and their children Jacob and Mathieu. May you find comfort in your memories of the countless hours spent at the farm with Floyd and Shirley.
Love you,
Trish, Ron and Leah
