The family announces with great sorrow the passing of Henri Branconnier, 91 years, on Friday, January 14, 2022 at Pioneer Manor Long-Term Care in Sudbury. Born in St-Charles, he was the son of the late Alphonse and Eva (née Savage) Branconnier. Beloved husband of 71 years to Rita (née Bigras) Branconnier of Hanmer. Loving father of Denis (Vida), Gilles (predeceased), Diane Morgan Zelinsky (husband Victor Zelinsky, Carlton Morgan predeceased), Lise Lecompte (Marc predeceased) and Lynn (Luc Castonguay). Cherished grandfather of Yves, Kim (Darryl), Debbie-Lyne, Daniel (Linda), Tina (Calum), Alain, Carlton Jr., David, Sylvie (Richard), Michel (Carol-Ann) and André (Johannie). Adored great grandfather of Teanna, Darrion, Joshua, Meagan, Mya, Arianna, Isabelle, Kaleb, Matt, Miana, Even, Warren and Ashley. Sadly missed by many siblings, nieces, nephews and relatives. Henri was a respected carpenter who worked at INCO for over 35 years. He took great pride and pleasure in sharing his love of carpentry with whoever showed interest in the trade. Throughout his life, he enjoyed fishing, camping, puzzles and, watching baseball, especially the Blue Jays. He was an avid card game player and was pleased to teach his grandchildren whenever the opportunity presented itself. The family would like to thank the staff of Pioneer Manor for the care they provided to Henri. In light of the COVID-19 restrictions, a Celebration of Henri’s life and interment of his cremains will take place at a later date.
