Montpellier, Marc

Marc Aldema Montpellier, age 63, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 23, 2022 at home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with prostate cancer.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Sharon; his children Derek (Stephanie), Carly (John) and Tyler (Dawn); his grandchildren, Alexie, Sloan and Timothy; his siblings Patricia (John), Colette and Guy (Micheline) as well as so many others.  Born in Sudbury, he was the son of Lionel and Claudette (nee Proulx, predeceased).

A good man, Marc brought so much enthusiasm to all that he pursued. Whether rocking his guitar late on a Saturday night with his band, spending long days in the field behind the wheel of a tractor during hay season, training horses (or more often their riders!), or being a fantastic Grampa, Marc was all in. He could spend hours talking about any one of the many passions of his life, even if it was the fourth time that day. But this only made him more endearing to those that knew him best, who will sorely miss his wisdom, passion, humour, and love. The Cowboy sits vigilantly on his horse now, riding the eternal pasture, watching over us all.

The family would like to thank all the dedicated health professionals of Health Sciences North, the Cancer Center, Bayshore Home Care Solutions and MAID for the endless support and care.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no service or visitation.  A Celebration of Marc’s Life will be held at a later date.

Donations may be made in memory of Marc directly to the Canadian Cancer Society.
