Doiron, Claude 1960-2022

Chantal Doiron and family are sad to announce the passing of Claude Doiron of Val Thérèse. He was surrounded by his loving family at home and peacefully passed away after a valiant battle with cancer on Wednesday, January 26, 2022. He was a wonderful loving husband and partner to Chantal (née Neas) for 43 years. Loving father to Eric Doiron (Kimberley), and Mélanie Castonguay (Alain) of Chelmsford. Grandpa Claude will be greatly missed by his 5 grandchildren:  Jayde, Summer, Ocean, Quinn, and Esme who just loved storytelling and doing all sorts of activities (camping, cycling, swimming) with Grandpa. Claude is also survived by 5 siblings:  Suzanne Doiron (Sudbury), Michel Doiron (Val Caron), Colette Doiron (Greg – Chelmsford), Robert Doiron (Noëlla – Chelmsford), André Doiron (Alain – Montréal) and predeceased by his little brother Daniel Doiron. He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Claude began working in the construction industry where he became an accomplished framer. He then joined the mining industry and for many years, has touched the lives of many colleagues and management and has built an outstanding reputation as shaft leader at Vale for his courage, tenacity to solve problems but also for his great sense of humor. One of Claude’s great loves was motorcycling on his Harley. He enjoyed many outdoor activities regardless of the season and was known for his ability to lure in loons with his proficient calling technique. He could also be known as a ‘jack of all trades’ fearlessly tackling any job presented to him. Finally, what helped him endure his biggest challenge these last few months was his faith in his God, Jehovah. Praying to Him for calm, endurance and to remain faithful whatever the outcome, Claude believed, without a doubt, that he would be resurrected in the New World, paradise on earth. Being one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, since 1986, Claude has been an active member of the Sudbury French Congregation, performing talks and always lending a helping hand in renovations. Most of all, he was known for his love of life, love of his fellow worshippers, and for having a special place in his heart for the elderly. Being the social butterfly he was, Claude will be remembered by all for his infectious smile, his laugh, a comfort to the ear, and for the tough guy on the outside who would always have your back. The family wants to give a special thank you to the many healthcare workers who have helped him throughout his illness, namely Dr. Walton, nurses Jayde, Amanda, Marion, and PSW Vik and Samuel for all their exceptional and compassionate care. As expressions of sympathy, donations made directly to the Watchtower Society (donate.jw.org) would be greatly appreciated. A memorial service will be held by Zoom on Friday, February 4, 2022, at 7pm where you may join at: Meeting ID 82434692200, Passcode 887868.
