Jozsa, John

In Loving Memory of John Jozsa (affectionally known as Johnny), 81 years who passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 16, 2022, at St Joseph’s Villa in Sudbury. He was predeceased by his wife of over 50 years, Rita in 2016. Beloved father of John Jozsa Jr. (Alison) of Calgary and Jody (Rick) of Sudbury and dear brother of Rose Benness (Glen predeceased). Cherished grandfather of Aleisha (Trevor), Tiffany (Maccar), Alexander, Christopher, Timothy, and great-grandfather of James. Born in Sudbury, he was the son of the late Joachim and Rosa Jozsa. John was a loving uncle to Fred, David, John, Glenn, Leif, Tim, Nicholas, Tom, Sam, Brandon, Liam, Liv, Abby, Meadow, and Brooke. Dear brother-in-law of Edward (predeceased), Isabel (Pat), Dot (Brian) and Kevin (Jonelle). John was a life-long West End resident and spent most of his long career selling cars in Sudbury. John had many interests and never stopped puttering around the house, the shed, or the swimming pool. John and Rita’s house was a gathering place…filled with love and laughter over the years. John always had a twinkle in his eyes, an infectious laugh, and a great dry sense of humor. He also enjoyed a good cigar every now and then! John is dancing with Rita once again. John strongly valued his faith and family and was reflected in his everyday life. The family would like to thank the staff of St Joseph’s Villa and Doctor Martin for the care and compassion they gave John and the family. John felt very comfortable living at the Villa. A Funeral  Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Hope Church, 591 Brennan Road, Sudbury on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are welcome to gather at the Church after 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Joseph's Villa in John's memory would be appreciated.

  2. Dear John Boy, it was such a pleasure getting to know you over the past year. You were the best partner that David ever had when you shared a room at St Joseph’s Continuing Care Center. We will cherish all the memories and the countless laughs we shared through all the ups and downs. Heaven surely gained a wonderful man. You will be greatly missed and I’m sure that you are already enjoying the finest cigars there are up there. Sincere condolences to all of the family and friends…
