In loving memory of Joseph Bernard “Bernie” O’Bumsawin, 97 years, who passed peacefully on July 3rd, 2022. Beloved sweetheart of Bernice (nee Walter) for 72 wonderful years. Loving father of Lynda (John), Colleen (Brian predeceased), Sharon (Don, Bert predeceased) and Pamela (Ron predeceased). Dear son of Abraham and Winnifred, both predeceased. Beloved brother of Emmett (Viola predeceased), Eileen (Doug predeceased), Milton predeceased, Robert predeceased (Hedley), Vincent (Vivian) and Claire (Dennis predeceased). Brother-in-law of Gerald (Edna) both predeceased, Clarence predeceased, Leonard (Ruby) and Mary (Frank predeceased). Dear grandfather of Tara, Taylor, Ryan, Chris, Erin, Amanda, Gin, Kali, Mercedes and Marina. Dear great-grandfather of Liam, Quinncy, Jamieson, Nash, Jessa, Jasmine and Harper. Treasured uncle of many nieces and nephews. Special friend of Walter and Marilyn. Bernie was happiest when his family was gathered together. He enjoyed many summers camping and fishing on Manitoulin Island. He was a man of great faith and an active member of his church and community. Bernie received exceptional care from his wife, daughters, PSWs and nurses at the end of his journey.
