It is with profound sadness that the family of Gerald Jones announces his peaceful passing on Saturday, July 9th, 2022, at Maison McCulloch Hospice at the age of 91yrs.
He will be lovingly missed and remembered by his wife Carmelle Jones and by his children Douglas Jones (Lynda), Claude “Moun” Jones, Claudette Jones and Marcel Jones (Angele). He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Stacy Jones (Ryan Valin), Nancy Jones, Curtis Jones, Brandon Wilson, Madison Jones and also his great-grandchildren Meagan Jones (Kevin Dixon), Braedan Smith, Ava Jones, Mason & Colton Jones.
Gerald loved spending time at the cottage with his wife and family. He loved fishing, boating, and working around the cottage.
A Memorial Mass will be Celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Parish (255 Church St, Garson, ON P3L 1S6), on Tuesday, July 19th, 2022, at 11:00am, followed by a reception in the Church Hall.
Interment to follow at St. John’s Cemetery (34 Garson Coniston Rd, Garson, ON P3L 1E9). The family wishes that donations be made to Maison McCulloch Hospice of Sudbury, ON.
I’m Free
Don’t grieve for me, for now I am free,
I took His Hand when I heard Him call,
I turned my back and left it all.
If my parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joy.
My life has been full,
I savored much, good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch.
A friendship shared, a laugh a kiss,
Oh yes, these things I too will miss.
Don’t lengthen it now
with undue grief, lift up your hearts and share with me,
God wanted me now, He set me free.
I am so sorry for your loss. He was an outstanding man who I’m sure touched many lives. I had the utmost respect for my uncle and though I hadn’t seen him in my older years I will always remember him fondly. ❤
