The family of Wayne Poirier mourning the loss of a big brother! Wayne was a real life (Red Green). He was very handy and could fix anything, always willing to lend a hand! Born in Sudbury to the late Paul and Ruth Poirier (née MacMillan). He was the second of 7 Children survived by Ron of Sudbury, Maurice (Moe) of Levack, Gary of Powell River B.C, Richard of Oliver B.C. Predeceased by his sister Anne Marie Higgs and brother Bernie Poirier. He will be sadly missed by his dear friend Pam Thomson of Sudbury.
I just found out about Wayne’s passing. He was a great guy and a great friend. We worked together first in carpentry and then in the bush doing Fall and Burn. He was a heck of a worker even when he retired. He was hard to keep up to. I was sad when he left Oliver for Ontario but we would keep in touch every few months. I last spoke with him in March. He was still making plans and looking forward to the future. I’ll miss him a lot.

My deepest condolences to the Poirier family. I was just talking to Wayne at Marks a few weeks back. Wayne was a great person who will be deeply missed. Rest easy, Wayne, until we meet again, fly be free……………………..
