It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of husband, father, and grandfather, Hector Fortin, 78 years, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 25, 2016, at home with his family by his side. Born in Blind River to the late Albert and Delia (Bouchard) Fortin. Beloved husband of 56 years to Bertha (French) Fortin. Loving father of Edward (Angela), Ronald (Roxane), and Suzanne (Marcel). Cherished grandfather of Jason and Chantalle. Dear brother of the late Marie (Art), Albert (Dorothy), Olive (William), Thomas, Elric (Lela) and survived by Yvette, Jaqueline (Eugene), and many nieces and nephews. Hector was a welder at Rio Algom for 32 years before he retired and started his own welding business. His passion for fishing and the outdoors will live on through his grandchildren. A Memorial Mass and luncheon will be held at St. James the Greater Parish, 44 Lakeside Street, Blind River, on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Parkinson’s Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
