Paradis, Wilfrid Robert

It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Wilfrid Robert Paradis on Saturday, June 22nd, 2024 at Pioneer Manor at the age of 80.

He was predeceased by his parents Oscar Sr., Jeannette (Lemieux), his brothers Maurice (Mary Ellen), Oscar Jr and lovely niece Roberta. He is survived by his brother Georges (friend Ann), his sister-in-law Judy, his nieces Barbara, Laura, Michelle, and nephew Michael.

Apart from his early years growing up in Coniston, Wilfrid’s latter years were lived in Toronto. He was employed with Ontario Hydro. He was a quiet, humble, reserved, and artistic individual. He enjoyed reading, writing (short stories and poetry), reflexology, and abstract paintings. He enjoyed his leisure activities such as walking, cycling, and time spent at his cottage exploring the wilderness. As an avid reader he never shied away from an argument (a family trait). The family acknowledges the heartfelt care, compassion and understanding to all staff and others (too many to mention) who patiently dealt with Wilfrid’s challenges at Rayoak Place (Toronto) and Pioneer Manor.

As per his wishes, there will be no visitation or service. Cremation has already taken place.

An informal family gathering will be held at a later date. In Wilfrid’s memory, donations can be made directly to Parkinson’s Canada https://www.parkinson.ca/getinvolved/waystogive/

or The Canadian Alzheimer’s Society. https://alzheimer.ca/en/take-action/make-your-donation-today

Au revoir Wilfrid. It’s time to move on and rest in peace.
