Franche, Evelyn Roberta(née Boucher)

Our beloved Evelyn peacefully left us in the early morning hours of July 5th, 2024, joining her best friend and beloved husband of over 50 years, Claude. Evelyn cherished her family above all else. She was a devoted mother to Michelle (Stewart), Denise, and Marc (Lisa), and a loving grandmother to Jules, Jessica, Adrienne, Dayna, Tyler, Amanda, Marissa, Aryn, Benjamin, and Allie. She was also a doting great-grandmother to Olivia, Jax, Emma, Leah, Cohen, Harper, Drew, Reece, and Declan. Evelyn was a special aunt and great-aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.

Born in the small town of Britt, Ontario, on September 22nd, 1943, to her parents Alfred and Beatrice Boucher (both predeceased). Beloved sister to Cindy Archambeault (predeceased) and Armand, Bing Boucher (predeceased), Edgar Boucher, Earl Boucher (predeceased), and Lloyd Boucher (Marlene).

Evelyn moved to Elliot Lake, Ontario, at the age of 17, where she met and married her best friend Claude in 1961. Together, they enjoyed a wonderful life, raising their three beautiful children and later delighting in their grandchildren.

In her later years, Evelyn moved to Val Caron to be closer to family. She was well known for her sense of humor and constant jokes. Evelyn also had a passion for knitting, crafting, and coloring. However, what she was best known for was her immense love for everyone around her.

Evelyn’s family will miss her immensely but take solace in knowing she is finally reunited with her husband.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the Elizabeth Centre staff who cared for Evelyn in her final years.
