Cormier, Jean (Tessier)

In Loving Memory of Jean Cormier (Tessier) who passed away on July 5th, 2024 at Health Sciences North with family by her side at the age of 84. Born in Espanola, ON to the late James Cormier and the late Matilda Cormier (née Beaudry). Beloved and cherished mother of Robert Tessier predeceased (Heather), Monique Spry (Dale), Gerald Tessier (Christine), James Tessier (Anne), Jeanne Campbell (Doug). Treasured grandmother of Lisa (Zak), Kelvin (Kelly), Jean (Mike), Jamie (Alex), Aaron-James, Joshua (Selena), Courtney (Jaymi), Katie (Nick) Molly (Jeff), Leah (Donald). Great grandmother of Apsara, Tenzing, Sunny, River, Cohen, Hazel, Jude, Theo, Addilyn, Dinah, Poppy, Nora, Claire, Wally. Sister of Charles wife Lillian (Land) predeceased, Lauretta Collins (Peter) predeceased, Arvella Gagne (Gary) predeceased, Ernest predeceased, Norman (predecease)wife Judy (Beauchamp), Royaline Pronovoult (Gérald) predeceased, Jerry wife Claire (Bisson). Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. 

Jean was a devoted mother to her five children and was always there for her family. She was very proud of all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Well known as Momma T to all her children’s friends. She was known to put everyone first and always had her door open no matter who you were. She was a very strong person who endured pain her entire life, surviving polio as a child which led to back surgery (Harrington) when she was 31 years old.

Jean loved playing cards and was fiercely competitive when playing Pokeno and or Canasta. She loved to cook and was famous for her cabbage rolls and beans. She loved to watch hockey as well as many other sports. She worked at the Copper Cliff Club for many years in as a cook and was loved by all who worked with her. 

In keeping with her wishes a Celebration of Life will be held on July 17, 2024 at Bryston’s on the Park, 5 Creighton Road, Copper Cliff, ON from 4pm to 8pm.
