Godon, Helene Red (née Richer)

November 22, 1938 – August 23, 2024

Our mother passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her loving family on Friday, August 23, 2024. She was the daughter of the late Auguste and the late Emilienne Richer. Born and raised on a farm on Radar Road, with thirteen siblings.

Married for 54 years to a wonderful husband and father Yvon Godon (predeceased). They were both hard working parents. She had five children that she loved very much, Gabrielle (Alvin), Marcel, Denise (Mike), Claude (predeceased), Gisel (Dan). Also was a proud memere to Tammie and Robert, Catherine, Nathalie (predeceased), Alain and Michel Jr. (predeceased). Lyndz, Kory and Ocean. Cory, Cassara, CJ, and Cody. Fernand (predeceased) and Stephane. The grandchildren and the great grandchildren were the highlights of her life.

She was a one-of-a-kind mother, bringing all her five children camping without any of us missing a thing. Fishing was her passion at Three Corner Lake with family and friends. Mom’s home was always open. Card playing was a big part of our daily lives, gathering once a week with her sisters, grandson and daughters for a friendly game.

She wishes that each and every one of us, keeps her memories going. Remembering the good times, they had together. You may not see her, but she will be with you forever.

Our mother lost her battle with cancer, donations may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society https://cancer.ca/en/.

  4. Our deepest sympathy to you all. I remember meeting your mother, my aunt, all those many years ago and how she made crepe Suzette – it was an exotic treat for this girl growing up in a small town in BC. Although we did not see one another very much I hold her and you all in my heart.

  6. Deepest condolences to the whole family. She was one special lady. She taught me how to make her famous green ketchup a few years ago (for my mom) and I’m sure they’re both happy to be reunited now).
