Charbonneau, Lorraine Alice

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lorraine Alice Charbonneau on December 5, 2024, at the age of 72, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Sudbury, Lorraine was the daughter of Omer and Dolores Charbonneau (both predeceased), and sister to Marc (predeceased, survived by Sue) and Richard (predeceased, survived by Judy).

Lorraine married John Quinn in 1974, and together they had two children, Curtis and Cathleen.  Though they eventually went their separate ways, they remained good friends and shared in the joy of their children and grandchildren.  Lorraine was a devoted grandmother to Kaitlyn Quinn (Randy), Hayden Quinn, and Tyler Quinn Todd.  She was a proud mother and grandmother and took pride and interest in all her family's activities. She will be missed by her special friend, Len, who brought joy and companionship to her life, as well as her many nieces and nephews, with whom she enjoyed spending time.

Lorraine retired from the Environmental Services department at Health Sciences North, where she formed friendships that brought her comfort and strength during her final days.

Lorraine found joy camping and spending time at her trailer with family and friends. Her infectious smile and hearty laughter will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. She embraced life with a warm heart, leaving behind a legacy of strength and cherished memories.

The family will honor Lorraine’s life with a celebration in 2025. They extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Health Sciences North for their care and support.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Genevra House https://www.domesticshelters.org/help/on/sudbury/p3b4k7/ywca-genevra-house would be greatly appreciated. Lorraine’s kindness, laughter, and unwavering love for her family will forever remain in our hearts.

  4. Cathleen, I am so saddened to read about your Mother’s passing. It was a stroke of luck that we met when my mother Diane shared a room with your Mom at HSN. Your family and friends provided comfort and much laughter to my Mom during her stay.
It was easy to see how much love was shared between you and your Mother. Please know that I am thinking of you.
    Kindest Regards
