St. Louis, Rene

August 17, 1936 – March 8, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rene on Saturday, March 8, 2025 after a brave journey. Rene died at Health Sciences North, peacefully surrounded by love. He was at the Lasalle Residence for a little while, and also on the 5th floor at HSN. Rene leaves behind his loving wife, Jacqueline (Noel), whom he married August 26, 1957, which would have been 68 years ago in August. Loving father of four sons, Ronald (Helene), Rheal (Tammy), Bernard (Cory), and Gaston (Corinne). Rene was a proud Pepere to four grandkids, Angele, Roxanne, Shelby, and Matthew, and great-Pepere to Josh, Ben, Kyle, and Malcolm.

Rene was born in St. Charles to Telesphore and Theophise St. Louis. Survived by siblings Irene Coulombe (Gilbert predeceased), Annette Carriere (Norm), Lionel (Michelle), Andre (Jeanne), Richard (Lise), and Jeanne (Ron). Predeceased by Doris (Madeleine), Therese (Ovide), Cecile (Lionel), Henry (Rachelle surviving), and Larry (Rachel surviving).  Also survived by four sisters-in-law, Claire, Reina, Raymonde, and Suzanne.

Rene was a great family man with a super sense of humour and a good father to his four sons. He loved the outdoors, especially the time spent at their camp in Monetville. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, loved playing cards and his crosswords. He enjoyed his family and his friends at Club Amical. He worked at INCO for 35 years, making lots of friendships there. Sincere gratitude to the staff at HSN and Lasalle Residence for their kindness and care provided. In his memory, donations can be made directly to the charity of your choice. A Celebration of Rene’s Life will be held at a later date.
