It is with great sadness that the family of Anthony "Tony" Francis McQueen announces his peaceful passing on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at the Maison McCulloch Hospice, Sudbury at the age of 87 years.
Beloved husband of Betty McQueen (Harrison) for 64 years. Loving father of Glen McQueen (Diane), Susan Dupuis (Dan predeceased), Laurie Lumley (Michael). Cherished grandfather of Stephan Dupuis (Perise), Christine McQueen, Devon McQueen (Crystal), and Jessica Valade (Dan). Great grandfather of Reese, Riley, Brooklyn, and Kingston.
Tony was born in Alloa, Scotland to Sarah (Monaghan) and Arthur McQueen predeceased. Dear brother of Ben (Olive), also Gerald, James (Pat), Arthur (Jean) and Lawrence all predeceased.
Tony worked at Yolles Furniture for 30 years. Later in life Tony enjoyed puttering in his shop, looking after his birds, tending to his garden, and family gatherings where he had no shortage of stories to tell. He also enjoyed a "wee dram" from time to time.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Maison McCulloch Hospice, for their support and care during his brief time there. They would also like to thank the staff at Bayshore and Ontario Health at Home who helped Tony with homecare over the past few months.
As per Tony's wishes there will be no funeral visitation or service. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations to the Maison McCulloch Hospice, would be appreciated.
Betty and Family: We were so sad to read of Tony’s passing. Such a nice man. Remembering all our encounters on Talon Street. Hope your treasured memories will keep him close in your heart forever. God bless you all as you go through these very difficult times!
