Bernie was a skilled Mr. Fix-It, always tinkering in his garage, taking meticulous care of his tractors, his garden, and happily helping his daughters and son-in-laws with projects in their homes. If you needed advice, a helping hand, or a tool you never knew existed, Bernie was the man to call!

A lifelong lover of country music, he always had a song playing in the background as he worked on projects or shared stories. Music wasn’t just a pastime—it was a constant presence in his life.

Bernie dedicated 31 years to INCO’s Stobie Mine, where he built lifelong friendships and was known for his strong work ethic while still enjoying a good laugh. His generosity extended beyond work—he was always ready to lend a hand to family, friends, and neighbours.

Though his presence will be profoundly missed, the lessons he imparted, the love he shared, and the memories he created will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

As per Bernard’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Instead of flowers, donations to Maison McCulloch Hospice would be greatly appreciated and can be made directly at:

His family is deeply grateful for the exceptional care and compassion he received there.

A heartfelt thank you to all the staff at Maison McCulloch Hospice, the staff of HSN 4 North, the dedicated team at the Northeast Cancer Centre, and his special home care nurse, Josée—your kindness will never be forgotten.

“Don’t know where or when, but we’ll meet again on some sunny day!”
