It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Claude Alain on May 14, 2021 at the age of 62 with his family by his side. Beloved son of the late Julien Alain (Eileen) and Jeannine (late Raymond Houle). Claude will be sadly missed by his siblings Denis (Carole), Suzanne Bigras (Mike) of Noelville, Raymond, Helen, and pre-deceased by his brother Michel (Lise) and sister Anita. Loving husband to Jeannette St George. Cherished father to Jason (Crystal) of Espanola, Mélanie (Martin) of Halifax. Stepfather to Ryan (Jennifer) of London, Natasha (Katie) and Philip. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren whom he loved to spoil, Isabelle, Brielle, Jean-Claude and Èva and his step grandchildren, Kalan, Jamieson, Connor and Roman. Claude loved to tease the kids and banter for title of “the boss”. He always ended up letting them get the title but loved the exchange. This was usually followed by bringing them to the store to get candy or ice cream and them keeping the change! There will be a big void for them without their Pépère Claude. He will be greatly missed by his nieces, nephews and many friends including Helene St George who introduced him to his soulmate Jeannette (her sister). He will also be dearly missed by his stepson Philip with whom he shared a special bond and his furry friend Daisy. Claude was a very nurturing, friendly, outgoing person who was happiest when surrounded by his friends and family around a campfire, fishing, camping, or cooking for them. He loved sports especially hockey, the outdoors and his boy’s poker and bingo nights. Claude loved his job as a custodian at Laurentian University. Since COVID started Claude had really been missing all his “kids”. They loved to hear all about his funny stories and gifted him all kinds of mugs and trinkets from their travels. Due to the current covid restrictions there will be no funeral service. A celebration of life will be planned at a later date when it is safe to due so. Donation to the Heart and Stroke foundation in Claude’s honour would be greatly appreciated.
