His family was his greatest joy, and he took immense pride in their accomplishments and happiness and not to mention his love for his animals. He will be sadly missed by his little pal Joey (AKA Joseph).

Richard was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Lorretta Blacklock (nee Perron) both of Hanmer.  Survived by his sisters, Kim Servais (Maurice Servais) of Hanmer and Debbie Blacklock (Richard Rivet) of Hanmer, as well as his nieces Lissa Paiment (Marc Paiment) of Whitby, Stephanie Servais (Patrick Tinsley) of Hanmer, Kayla Read of Hanmer and Ashley Read (Patrick Poirier) of Val Caron. Richard found great joy in his hobbies. He was an avid quadder and snowmobiler, often spending time exploring the outdoors and embracing the thrill of adventure. He was a proud member of the Northern Snowbird CB'ers Club. Richard enjoyed the camaraderie and shared passion for CB radio, which brought him many lasting friendships and memorable experiences.

Richard also treasured his regular coffee runs with his best friend, Paul Brunet, at Tim Hortons in Hanmer, where their conversations and wittiness were a highlight of his days.

Richard’s presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew him. His legacy of love, dedication, and compassion will continue to inspire and guide those he leaves behind.

A memorial service will be held later in Sudbury, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made directly to the Hanmer Food Bank in Richard’s memory. Rest in peace, Richard. Your memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing you.
