Caldarelli, Eugene John (Jack)

Eugene John (Jack) Caldarelli, 86, of Sudbury, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 6, 2024 at the Maison McCulloch Hospice.  He was born on March 30, 1938 to Vermiglio (Vermy) and Filomena (Celestini) Caldarelli of Sudbury and lived a life filled with laughter.  He is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife Fran, his cherished children, Chris (Mid Andrews) and Mike (Josie Fung), and his treasured grandson Ethan.  Jack will be truly missed by his brother-in-law and lifelong best friend Ed Vendramin. He was predeceased by his beloved daughter Gina, his sister Mary Anne Vendramin, and his sister-in-law Ann Zakem (Robbie, predeceased).  Jack is also survived by his sisters-in-law Susan Presenza (Antonio), Valerie Brill (Bob, predeceased), and his brother-in-law Bob Weight (Lois).

Jack attended the University of Toronto earning his Bachelor of Arts in 1960 and a Bachelor of Laws in 1963.  He enjoyed a long fulfilling career in law, practicing alongside his friend and partner Jim Bubba. Jack’s passions extended beyond the law – he was an enthusiastic golfer and skier and found pleasure in playing the piano and spending as much time as possible at his happy place, his camp at Richard Lake. 

Jack’s loyalty to his friends, kindness to his clients and the joy he took in his family will be remembered.

The family would like to thank Sandy Tegel, Dr. Sathish Gopalakrishnan and the staff at Maison McCulloch Hospice for their kindness and care provided to Jack and our family during his illness. 

Interment has taken place in the family plot at the Civic Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jack’s memory may be made directly to the Maison McCulloch Hospice would be greatly appreciated.
