In memory of Gerry Canty, 66 years of age, who passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2024. Gerry was a “man about town” in particular the four corners where he worked for IGA and Food Basics grocery stores. He also applied his many skills down the road at the Holiday Inn and Home Hardware. Gerry most recently will be remembered as a familiar face and friend to the many customers at Eddie’s Restaurant and the surrounding stores in the mall on Regent Street. A kind and gentle soul who was a self-proclaimed mall superintendent, keeping the storefront sidewalks clean and neat year-round. He also helped out cheerfully in the restaurant where he could be found enjoying a meal or two alongside some of the other regulars. Soft-spoken with a warm smile and a playful sense of humor, he was blessed to have a kind-hearted friend in his life’s journey. A very special thanks to Jocelyn Tait.
A Celebration of Life for Gerry will be held at Eddie’s on a date to be announced.
