April 10th, 1955 – December 26th, 2024
It is with broken hearts and great sadness that our family announces the sudden passing of David Stephen Collis on December 26th, 2024, in his 70th year.
Beloved husband of Lori, he was a devoted and loving stepfather to Jill-Anne (Alex) and Joseph (Genevieve) and the most cherished grandfather to Kaylee, Oaklynn, and Léo.
Dave is survived by his brother Andrew (Diane) and was predeceased by his parents, Bryan and Sheila and his brother John. He was a proud and loving uncle to Haley, Kyle, Nicole, and Jason, sharing a deep bond with each of them.
He was the best of friends for life to Jim and Joy (Shane, Jesse, Christina), and Vito and Linda (Jake), who were like family to him.
Dave’s presence brought love, laughter, and loyalty to everyone he held close. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Dave was a shining example of how to truly enjoy life, embracing every moment with passion and curiosity. Dave was a BC boy at heart, but he found his true home in Northern Ontario, where he embraced life to the fullest. Though he always cherished his roots in British Columbia, it was here in the North, surrounded by his grandchildren, that he truly thrived. Daily adventures became his way of life, and he brought his love of exploration to every moment spent with family. He loved kayaking, traveling, and exploring, often with his camera or GoPro in hand to capture the beauty of the world around him. His adventurous spirit inspired everyone who knew him.
Dave had a deep love for music and art, and he found great joy in sharing the stories and history behind his cherished collections. His enthusiasm for life’s treasures was infectious, bringing others into the wonder he saw in the world.
In his family, Dave was nothing short of extraordinary. He lovingly stepped into the roles of three late grandfathers, embodying their spirit and strength, and became an exceptional Grandpa also known as Gramps to his grandchildren. He shared his passion for exploration with them, taking his oldest grandchild Kaylee to British Columbia and dreaming of future adventures with the younger ones. His family was his greatest pride and joy. His closest friends were an extension of that love and became his chosen family, cherished just as deeply.
Dave’s legacy is one of love, kindness, and an appreciation for life’s beauty. He leaves behind a family and community forever enriched by his presence.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
So sorry to hear about Dave, I worked with him in Vancouver at Reimer Express. He was great guy to work with. He used to lend me a cd or 2 to listen to on my commute home to Kelowna on the weekends. Everytime I hear 1 of those tunes it reminded me of Dave. Treasure the memories they are special.

With great sadness I post this condolenc
e about Daves passing.
I know he was in BC recently to visit his best buddies.
All my prayers are with Lori and his family.
He was in the 70’s and 80’s with me on the waterfront best truck driver I ever saw.
He will be missed but remembered always.
