Daniel Eugene Courtemanche of Espanola passed away with his family by his side, after a short battle with Leukemia at the age of 81.
Dan was born on July 24th, 1943 in Chapleau.
On November 14th, 1964 he married his best friend Sandra. This year they would have celebrated their 60th Anniversary. They went on to have 4 children Dawna, Dan Jr., David and Jolene.
In 1997, after 33 years Dan retired from INCO and spent his days doing the things he loved the most, spending time with his family, hunting, fishing and being at his favourite place, his camp in Mindemoya.
Dan was predeceased by his parents Matilda and Lucien Courtemanche, his brother Ronald (Cork) Courtemanche, sister-in-law Barb and his beloved Shitzu Chloe.
He is survived by his wife Sandra, his children Dawna (husband Dave), Dan (wife Melissa), Dave (wife Tanya) and Jolene. Grandchildren Bradley (Cory), Kati (Gevoni), Brandon (Shelby), Codi (Braden), Richard (Megan) and Mathan. Great grandchildren Zaiden, Azalea, Willow, Kayden, Xander, Miles and Amelia. Plus many fur grand babies. Also survived by brothers Andre (wife Cecile), Robert (wife Viola), Leo (wife Gwen) and Helen Courtemanche.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 8th, 2024 from 1 to 4pm, at the Elks Hall in Espanola. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of Dan to the Espanola Regional Hospital Auxiliary.
