Crites, Irene

In loving memory of Irene Crites (nee St-Jacques), 78 years who passed away on Friday, March 10, 2023 at her home, as per her wishes. Beloved wife of Francis Crites Sr., (predeceased). Loving mother of Frank (Monique), Henri (Kathy) and Richard (predeceased). Cherished grandmother of Gaven (Lindsay), Jeffrey, Ryan (Sylvie), Sherrie (Cedrick), Katrina (Max) as well as 7 great grandchildren.

Irene was exceptionally close to her siblings, Helene Pick (Colin), Aline St-Jacques, Monique St-Jacques, Carole Rogers (predeceased) and her brother Robert Rogers (Sue-Anne). She leaves behind many nieces and nephews and had a special place in her heart for her niece, Debbie Beaudry.

Irene was the family matriarch, her home the gathering place for all family events. She was known for her expert knitting abilities and gifted many family members with unique sweater patterns and warm socks.

With wisdom, dignity, self-determination, and a fierce need to remain independent she directed her own care until the very end and left this world as she intended, in her sleep.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to her home nurse Shannon as well as Dr. Liisa Levasseur who graciously provided home visits when Irene could no longer leave the house.

A Celebration of Irene’s Life will be held at a later date as per her wishes.
