It is with heavy hearts that we announce Curt's passing on Friday, May 26, 2017, at the age of 62 years. Beloved son of Raymond and Merle (Ranger) Caverson, both predeceased. Cherished partner of Joanne Pelletier (predeceased). Dear brother of Deborah of Sudbury, Jane (John McVittie) of Sudbury, Monica (Stephen Moranis) of Toronto, and Tracy (Nabil Naccache) of Montreal. Proud uncle to Adam, Claudia, and Rebecca. Curtis will be sadly missed by aunts and uncles, Dora Grannary, Ritchie and Bruna Caverson, Cathy and Frank DiPietro, Guy Caverson and Wendy Watson, Carlo (Tug) and Jean Parri, both predeceased, Reggie Caverson, Sydna Larmand, and Terry Chamilliard, and by many cousins and friends. Curtis attended St. charles College and graduated from Lively High School, furthering his education at McMaster University, in Hamilton. Curt's passion for golf started at a very early age, living across the road from the Lively Golf Club. He played at and was employed by several golf clubs across Canada, as an assistant pro and club pro. and also owned a small business in the West, repairing and building golf clubs. Curtis returned to school, graduating from Ryerson Institute of Technology, in Landscape Architecture, and assisted in the design and building, of the Timberwolf Golf Course, in Sudbury. His drafting table became part of his home décor. Curtis was a meticulous record keeper, a fabulous dancer, and hockey fan, spending many Saturday nights defending his team against rival family members. He had a great affinity for music, photography, movies, the outdoors, and was a huge lover of sweets. Curtis was a proud man of integrity and was respected by everyone he knew, always ready to lend a hand when needed. His big heart was like a magnet. As per his wishes, there will be no funeral or visitation. A Celebration of Curt's Life and internment will take place at a later date. Donations in Curt's memory may be made to, Crohns and Colitis Canada, Sudbury and Canadian Mental Health Association. The light of his life will be cherished by all who knew and loved him. "When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure." We will miss you Curtis! I'm Free Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free I'm following the path God laid for me. I took His hand when I heard His call, I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day, To laugh, to love, to work or play. Task left undone must stay that way, I found the Peace at the close of day. If my parting has left a void, Then fill it with remembered joys. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, Ah yes, these things, I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow, I wish you sunshine of tomorrow. My life's been full, I've savoured much, Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief, Don't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your hearts and share with me, God wanted me now, He set me free.
Oh Curt! I was thinking about the great times we had as roommates at McMaster and the crazy stunts we got involved in. Dueling with each other on the way home from the Downstairs John (pub) with your karate moves trying to hit me with my fencing team training.
I will miss you til it’s my turn. To his family, I will never forget hitchhiking to Sudbury one weekend, staying with his parents in Lively! Also a double date with our sisters to see The Exorcist I believe. Deb, you were a sweetheart.
I also will never forget how much Curt loved his Uncle Guy, who I believe was a karate black belt. He looked up to you like a father.
He will always be remembered for his kindness.

Very saddened to hear this news. Curt was a boyhood friend growing up just down the street from us and I knew the family well back then. Our sincere condolences to all of the Caverson family. Don and Roxanne Young.
