It is with profound sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Marc-Roch Gagnon, on Friday January 5, 2024 at Pioneer Manor at the age of 64.
Born and raised in Sudbury, Marc was the son of Roger and Joyce (née Guy) Gagnon both predeceased. Also predeceased by his sister Catherine Gagnon and brother-in-law David Bean.
Left to mourn him are his brother and sister-in-law Dan and Brenda Gagnon of Uxbridge, his sister and brother-in-law Suzanne and Gino Dubien of Naughton, his brother and sister-in-law Pierre and Susan Gagnon of Val Caron, and his sister Caroline Bean of Caledon East.
Marc loved spending time with family. Nephews and nieces meant more to him than words could describe. Marc had a very special place in his heart for his godson Eric. He enjoyed many happy times with nephews Matt, Raymond, André, Christopher and Joey, nieces Jacquie and Melanie, great nephews Zavier, Louie, and Gilles, and great niece Holly. Marc was looking forward to meeting Peter and Harriet.
Marc had many good friends, with a special mention of Lisa, Patty and Georgette. He was well liked by so many, genuinely caring about others.
Marc loved the outdoors and spending time at camp on Lake Nipissing. He was an avid hunter and fisher, and held fond memories of fishing in Silver Creek behind River Valley. He enjoyed participating in sports such as racket ball, tennis, football and golf to name a few. He was a true sports fan, and loved the Montreal Canadiens and the Chicago Bears. He was also interested in rock music and loved playing games such as cribbage and backgammon.
Marc will be greatly missed, forever in our hearts.
We are grateful for the many excellent care providers Marc had over the years. The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to the staff at Pioneer Manor for all that they did to care for him and make him feel “at home”. Special acknowledgement to Dr. John Mulloy, Nurse Shawn, as well as Dr. Aulakh for the positive impact they had on Marc’s life.
Memorial donations in Marc’s name may be made directly to the Nature Conservancy of Canada https://www.natureconservancy.ca/en/ or to the Canadian Mental Health Association https://cmha.ca/, and would be greatly appreciated.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, February 25, 2024 venue to be confirmed at a later date.
