It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Gaëtan Gauthier, 79 years old, on Thursday, May 13, 2021. Beloved husband of Ruth (née Dawson) Gauthier (predeceased). Loving father of Carol Vaillant, Sharon Gauthier (Denis Lefebvre), and Michelle Thompson (predeceased), and godfather to Kim Dawson. Grandfather to Daniel Gauthier (Chelle Brush-Gauthier), Jonathan Seguin (Kimberley Seguin), Jessica Vaillant, Nicholas Vaillant (Meagan Ackerland), and Cassandra Vaillant. Great-grandfather to Austin, Damian, Logan and Benjamin, and beloved companion of Gilberte Lambert. Son of Aurèle and Laurette (née Lefebvre) Gauthier (both predeceased). Dear brother to Marie-Paule Gauthier (Ken Lem), Françoise DiMaio (Joe Dimaio), and Sylvie Gauthier. Gaetan will be missed by many nieces, nephews, family, and countless friends. Our hearts are filled with long-lasting memories inspired by a lifetime of teachings. He will be remembered for his strong family values, his fairness and hard work and dedication to his community (Chief of the French River Metis Tribe). His legacy will be carried on and forever treasured.
