With a profound mixture of grief and relief we said “Bon Voyage” to our wonderful Wife, Mother, Friend, Sister and Auntie, Suzanne Helm (nee Spring of Lively, ON), peacefully at her home on Thursday September 26, 2024, surrounded by her husband Bernard Helm (Garson) and children Christopher and Heidi (Ottawa).
Suzanne was a warm and generous person who loved her family, friends, and pets, golf, travel, skiing, sweets and a good drink.
Her children, fondly remember a childhood filled with hugs, thoughtful gifts, quality time with extended family, amusement parks, camping and road trips across Canada.
Sue was a reliable hard-working employee on the switchboards of Bell Canada for 30 years, rarely missing work, and enjoying an early retirement.
She was well known at Cedar Green golf course, helping organize (and win!) tournaments, even earning her place in the “hole in one” hall of fame!
Sue’s sharp memory, love of music, appetite for reading (121 books in one year!) and passion for travel (over 40 countries!) made her a fierce competitor in trivia, scrabble and cards, and great at conversation.
Her neighbourhood of tight knit friends remember her wit, generosity, authenticity, Christmas parties and snowmen decor.
Suzanne is survived by her sisters Linda Daypuk (Flin Flon MB) and Candice Decivito (Birtle MB) plus nieces and nephews including Tina, Daniel, Donnie, Derek and great nieces Tayla, Alice, Aleena.
At her request there will be no funeral or memorial service. Interment at Park Lawn Cemetery.
