Hennigar, Florence V. (nee MacNeil) 

  It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Florence Veronica Hennigar on Friday, October 11, 2024, at Health Sciences North at the age of 72.  

    Born in Sudbury to the late Angus and the late Jessie MacNeil (née MacLellan) and her special “second mother” Patricia MacLellan. She is survived by her husband Lynn Hennigar. Sadly missed by her children Jeremiah Eckhoff (Jennifer) and Meranda Charles (Sarne). Loving grandmother of Kurtis, Markus, Breanne and great grandmother of Phoenix. Sister of Alex (predeceased)(Corrine), Anna Greenslade (Don), Donald (Bonnie), Joan Leduc (Louis), Adele Hickey (Bob), Robert (Liette), Ronald (Pauline), John (predeceased), Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. 

    Florence was a longstanding member of the Canadian Legion Branch 76. She enjoyed family get togethers and parties, corn roasts and bonfires in her back yard. She loved country music and knew every word to every song.  Young and the Restless was her favorite tv show especially ‘Victor” and wouldn’t miss an episode. 

    The family would also like to send a special thanks to all of the wonderful doctors and nurses at HSN during her time there and to the doctors and staff at MAID who made her final journey a special one. 

    In lieu of flowers donations can be made directly to the charity of your choice. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

  1. we are heartbroken to know we have lost our dear sister in law Flo. We always looked forward to spending time with her and Lynn when we visited from BC and our visit were accompanied by lots of laughter, good food and of course lots of wine. Flo was more than a sister in law to me, she was a dear friend and I will miss her always. .
