Hodder, Ritchie

Ritchie Hodder, a beloved son, father, brother, and uncle passed away on Friday, October 4th, 2024 in Sudbury, ON. He was born on November 24th, 1970 to Richard and Sandra Hodder. Ritchie's passing has left an irreplaceable void in the hearts of his family and friends.

Ritchie will be forever remembered by his daughters Sarahlynn and Krysta Hodder; siblings Wendy Gagne, Alex Lacroix (predeceased) (wife Angela), Maddy Hodder, Patricia Hodder (husband Brian); his father Richard (partner Doreen); mother Alexandra "Sandra" Ross (predeceased); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Throughout his life, Ritchie touched the lives of many with his kind heart and adventurous spirit. His passion for running led him to complete marathons that showcased not only physical strength but also unwavering determination. His love for craft breweries and supporting local businesses made him a cherished member of the community wherever he went. An avid traveler at heart, he sought out new experiences that enriched both himself and those around him.

In addition to being a devoted family man who always put others before himself, Ritchie faced adversity with courage during his battle with cancer. The Maison McCulloch Hospice provided invaluable support during this challenging time for which the family is eternally grateful.

In honor of Ritchie's memory and legacy of resilience in the face of illness, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada instead of sending flowers.

The impact Ritchie had on those around him will continue to resonate through memories shared by all who were fortunate enough to have known him. His absence leaves behind an unfillable void that serves as a testament to just how deeply he was loved.

May we find solace in knowing that while our time with Ritchie has come to an end here on earth—his spirit lives on through each person whose life he touched.

  7. Ritchie, thank you for always being the friend my dad needed. You always showed up for him when he needed someone. I’ll never be able to thank you enough. I know you and I didn’t know eachother that well but in this last year and a half ish I got to know you and your girls better and you are all remarkable human beings. You did a wonderful job with those girls. Like I always told my dad, the man you were showed in the quality of people you had around you. I hope you are at peace and watching over your girls. Thank you again for being an amazing friend to me dad. You will be missed deeply.
