In loving memory of Michael (Mike) Jokinen, 58 years, who passed away suddenly on Saturday, November 20, 2021. Dear son of Urho and Aili (nee Rautio) Jokinen both predeceased. Devoted and loving father of James and dear brother of Nancy Maher (Wayne), Peter Jokinen (Lise Paquette), Lynn Sabourin (John), Christine, and predeceased by older brother Wayne (Maureen). He will also be sadly missed by his grandson, nieces and nephews and many relatives and friends. Mike worked in the grocery business for many years where he displayed a passion and commitment to his work and attention to detail. He was pleasant and helpful with both customers and co-workers and was never too busy to have a spirited chat. He enjoyed the family camp on Tilton Lake and developed a passion for rehabbing and restoring vintage outboard motors and had an impressive collection to show for it. Video gaming and caring for his saltwater aquarium complete with many exotic fish were also important activities. There will be a private family service with a celebration of life to follow at a later date.
My condolences… He was a great coworker and friend.
He will be greatly missed.

Our thoughts and sympathies are with Mike’s family. Mike had such a cheery, kind, humorous and sincere disposition, and as neighbours, we have always enjoyed our backyard visits. We are grateful to have had woven yards that brought our lives together. Mike will be deeply missed.

I was so saddened to hear! I remember Mike cruising in his blue Monte Carlo blaring AC/DC! There might also have been soon drinking at the Pres. Safe travels my friend. My sincerest condolences to the family.

My deep condolences to James and the entire Jokinen family. Mike was a breath of fresh air every time I saw him in the produce dept. at Independent. I always enjoyed our conversations about James, food, weather, sports, and our shared Donovan roots. He will be greatly missed by everyone, and he is gone too soon. I am thinking of all of you with my sincere sympathy.
