It’s with great sadness that the family announces the passing of David “Dave” Kirk on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, just shy of his 80th birthday.
Loving father of Gordon (Debbra) Kirk and Delilah (Steve) Mimeault. Cherished Grampa of Jamie Lee Mimeault and Tyson Kirk. Only brother of Shirley, Verna, Violet (all predeceased), and June, Diane, Emma, and Gayle. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
David was a proud and hard-working man, having just retired in September 2023. He was an avid tinkerer, never turning down a project that allowed him to showcase his carpentry talents. At David’s request, there will be no funeral. Cremation has taken place, with a celebration of life to follow at a later date.
The family would like to thank the staff on Level 4 North at HSN for the care provided during the last 4 weeks. If you wish, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society in David’s memory would be appreciated.
My heartfelt condolences to David’s family. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to visit David and his family during his last three weeks. His smile and strength during all the challenges thrown
at him were Inspiring. I was privileged to have met David and worked with him for close to 30
years. My day would not be the same without our morning talks and after work good-byes. He was
a kind, sweet and genuine person who always lent a hand without hesitation. David always bragged
about his grandchildren and regularly brought in pictures and videos. He will always be with me in
mind, in heart, all the time. Rest in peace monkey. You will be forever missed. To the family, may
it bring you comfort that David knew he had your love and support to the end.
