It is with heavy hearts that the family announces his passing in Sudbury, on January 12, 2024.
Son of the late Roméo and Régina (nee Larocque) Lavigne. Predeceased by his siblings, Gilbert, Ronald, Guy, Rhéo, Paulo, Roger, Raymonde, Rollande, Jeanette, Pauline, Ghislaine and Suzanne. Survived by his sister Colette Brisson.
Loving husband of Béatrice (nee Boileau) Lavigne and loving father of Pierre (Jenny) and Claude (Alana).
Cherished grandfather of Daniel (Kaycee), Michelle (Robert), Alyssa (Andrew), Dawn (Eric), Joel (Chanelle), Bobbie (Mitch), Rylee and Terri.
Great grandfather of Shyanne, Logan, Sophie, Theodore, Johnny, Benjamin, Alivia, Jaxon, Tyson, Roxane, Phoenix and Andre.
He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbours, and friends.
Donald was born in Field on October 2, 1939. He and his wife "Babe", settled in Val Caron where they began a family that continues to grow. Donald will always be remembered for his playful personality, his love of all things chocolate and his joke telling. He loved to make people laugh, watch the weather network, and play cards, especially "steal the deck".
A Mass will be held in his honour on Friday, January 19, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Ste. Marguerite d’ Youville Parish in Val Caron, followed by a light lunch in the church reception hall.

Il laisse aussi plusieurs neveux, nièces, cousins, cousines, voisins(es) et amis(es).
Donald est né à Field le 2 octobre 1939. Il s'est installé à Val Caron avec son épouse "Babe”, et ensemble ont fondé une famille qui ne cesse de s'agrandir. On se souviendra toujours de Donald pour sa personnalité enjouée, son amour de tout ce qui est chocolat et ses blagues. Il aimait faire rire les gens, regarder la météo et jouer aux cartes, surtout au "paquet voleur".
Une Messe sera célébrée en son honneur le vendredi 19 janvier 2024, à 10 h, à la Paroisse Ste Marguerite d'Youville à Val Caron, suivie d'un léger dîner dans la salle de réception de l'église.
Our deepest condolences to his family. Oncle Donald will be missed. I always sent them a Christmas card and he was always nice enough to call or come over to thank us. He was a great man.
