On September 6th, 2022, our family with great heartache announces the peaceful passing of a wife, mother, mother-in-law, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother at the young age of 96. Daughter of the late James Latham Stanley, predeceased and Annie (nee Appleton) Stanley, predeceased, and sister to John Stanley, predeceased (Bunti, predeceased), Doris Dolson, predeceased (Doug, predeceased) and George Stanley, predeceased (Pat). Predeceased by her loving husband, William Ferguson Legge Sr. Darling mother to four adoring children, Fergie Jr. (Elizabeth, predeceased), Douglas (Leslie-Ann), Susan (Wayne, predeceased) and Margaret (Larry). GMa to Jeanna (Glenn), PJ, Jake (Bailey), Samuel (Kerri), Nolan (Marybeth), Zackary (Ashley), Desmond, Melina (Russell). Great grandmother to Ethan, Liam, Ava Grace and Savannah.
Born in Schumacher, Ontario, and raised in Frood Village, lovingly known as Senny to all her friends and family. She had many hobbies including painting, embroidery, photography, baking and sorority sister of Beta Sigma Phi for 75 years. Also, a long-time member of St. Stephen’s on the Hill United Church. She spent more than 60 years at her camp on Fairbank Lake, which holds many cherished memories with her family. She will be truly and greatly missed to all who knew her for her kindness, generosity, and friendship. She was a true and genuine woman.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the many staff members of the emergency ward at HSN who supported Senny in her final hours. Special thank you to Dr. Goodale and Dr. Olsten for their exceptional care of Senny. There will be a private family ceremony to be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made directly to St. Stephen’s on the Hill United Church, 1248 Lauzon, Sudbury, ON P3A 3E1 - In Memory of Senny Legge.
