Marcotte, Sharon E. (née McCullough)

The family announces the passing of Sharon Elizabeth Marcotte on Thursday, September 5, 2024 after a long, and hard fought battle with cancer. She is now with her much missed father, William Allan McCullough and mother Katherine (Katica) McCullough.

Sharon was a social butterfly. She was always out and about, whether she was supporting her children (or others) at one of their sporting events, or out on the town. She was always on the go. She would do anything for anyone and had the biggest heart out there.

In September of 2022, Sharon was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. Although this was a shock to all, she continued to persevere and be strong all the way to the end. She fought every single day for the last two+ years, and that didn’t go unnoticed. She was the strongest person that most of us knew and had the biggest spirit.

The family would like to extend a huge thank you to all of her family, friends, as well as the staff at the Northeast Cancer Centre, HSN hospital, and St. Joe’s Continuing Care Centre who supported her throughout this time.

She will be terribly missed by her husband, Larry, their two children Ryan (Emily) and Karli (Brandon), her brother Chris (Shari), along with so many other family members and friends.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Sharon Marcotte and Katherine McCullough on Saturday, September 21st from 1-4pm at the Cambrian College Student Life Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made directly to the Northern Cancer Foundation, St. Joseph's Continuing Care Centre, or St. Stephen’s on the Hill United Church.

  5. Dear Larry, Karli and Ryan,
I am so saddened by the news of Sharon’s passing. We shared many great conversations over the years while we hung out our laundry. Sharon’s clothesline looked like the ones in magazines – meticulously ordered from large items to small ones and mine was so haphazard. She was a great listener, always sharing gentle advice and such a strong and kind Mom to all. She even made it out to watch the boys play hockey on a few occasions. She will be missed by all.
    Hugs to all of you,.

  11. I am very sorry to learn of Sharon’s passing. She was such a kind soul and my daughter who was a student/athlete far from home was always treated so kindly by her ‘Cambrian Mom’ and it gave me great peace of mind. May she rest in peace in paradise where I’m certain she was welcomed as she deserved.

  18. Sharon was such a beautiful person and had a heart of gold. She was always positive and ready to fight this disease head on. Shortly after one of her surgeries, she was out cruising the neighbourhood with her walker showing her strength and desire to go on. She will be missed by many. Our thoughts are with Larry and their children and her brother Chris and his family. Rest easy my friend.
