It is with a heavy heart that we share the peaceful passing of David Allan McOrmond, 70 years, who passed away on Monday, August 2, 2021, following a long battle with Liver Disease. He will be dearly missed by his sisters Nancy Mourot (Peter Alan) and Sandra Strong (Gerry), as well as by his house mates at Maple Residence. He is survived by his nephews, Ian David Strong, Jeremy Ormond Strong, Peter Owen Mourot, Daniel Walter Mourot and Kade Richard Strong who were his pride and joy. He cherished being a great uncle to Xavier Mourot, Gwenyth and Ryker Strong, he shared a love for bagpipes with Starling Grace. We discovered how much he wanted nieces when at Peter and Catherine’s wedding after the vows he stated loudly, “Finally! I got a Niece”. Ian and wife Morgan Kristen visited with Dave where he got to see the Baby Bump of the newest family member. He gave them a big smile and thumbs up. Dear son of Walter C. McOrmond (predeceased 2018) and Marion A. McOrmond (nee Graham) (predeceased 2020). He was a much loved nephew by many as well as the oldest grandson of both, Roy and Anne (Richards) McOrmond and Lewis and Merle Graham (Landon). Many cousins will miss his humour, and joy as well as our extended families that shared in our childhood. The family would like to thank the Sudbury Developmental Services whole heartedly, especially the staff of Maple Residence for the wonderful care and love given to Dave. You may never understand how much it eased our minds and hearts knowing he was in your care. Love you Dave! In keeping with his wishes, there will be no visitation or service. In lieu of flowers, donations in David’s memory can be made directly to the Canadian Liver Foundation or a Pet Rescue Charity of your Choice.
