Michaud, Barbara Gail (Cox)

In loving memory of Barbara Gail Michaud, 78 years peacefully at Health Sciences North on February 9th with loving family at her side and in her heart.

Barb is predeceased in 2021 by her loving husband Ray of 53 years.  Loving mother of Monique of Sudbury, Nicole of St. Catherines, Michelle, Raymond (Jennifer) all of Sudbury.  Cherished Nanny of Alicia (Josée), Shelby (Jayson), Alexx (Steven), Chasen (Heather), Reilly (John), Rubin (Mia), Kelsey (Matthew), Carter (Rachelle) and Jordan.  Proud great grandmother to 12, including the most recent addition of Finn (“Luffy”) and another joining in Spring 2025.  Beloved daughter of Constance Basso, predeceased in 2010.  Dear sister to Bruce (predeceased), Ron (Rita), Rick, Alan and Mike (predeceased).

Born in England, Barb immigrated to Canada with her mom in 1954, landing in Halifax and settling in Sudbury.  Barb had the pleasure of visiting Pier 21 in Halifax to commemorate her journey to Canada.  Barb was happiest with Elvis playing in the background, her family at her side, and she rejoiced with the addition of each grandchild and great grandchild.  Heartfelt appreciation from Barb and her family to HSN and namely: 4N (Kezia, Lena, Sylvie, Abby, Brittney, Silvija, and the BEST PSWs you will ever find); as well as the ICU (JF, Kaitlyn, Pam, Suzzanne, Brianna and Mark). There are Angels among us!

Cremation has already taken place.  Respecting Barb’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to HSN’s Palliative Care Unit on 4N to help comfort patients and their families at end of life.
