Passed away suddenly at his residence, Thursday, August 22, 2019 at the age of 38. Survived by his loving parents Eva and Kevin (Peggy). Loving brother of Trevor (Jodi), Darcy (Laura) and Tammy (Michael). Dear uncle of Meghan, Austin, Stacie, Wesley, Dawson, Hailey, Ella, Taylor, Kaylie, Kaitlyn and great nephew Odin. Darren will be sadly missed by many aunts, uncles, other family members and friends. A Burial Service will take place Saturday, August 31, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the Civic Cemetery (365 Second Ave, Sudbury). Donations in Darren’s memory can be made directly to Pet Save, Sudbury would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ranger’s Cremation and Burial Services Ltd. One of the fondest childhood memories I have are my Birkdale Friends … and the “green box”. Darren, Tammy and Darcy (sorry Trev, you were to old) were amonst those friends who participated in the daily game of “hide & seek”. One day, Darren was “it” for the first time. We had a large group of 10 to 15 kids hiding in trees, behind cars, in other people’s back yards, etc. Darren, the youngest of the group, nerveously stood by the green box knowing he needed to catch just one of us. The smart little guy hovered around “home free” (the green box) with eyes like a hawk making sure no ones slipped by. Eventually, some frustrated kid gave up and surrendered. All I could hear is Darren’s voice:
“YOU’RE IT”.
Made me laugh so much (hahaha). Good job Darren!! I will always remember the underdog who outsmarted us all.
