It is with heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Micheline (Mitch) Poitras, 64 years on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at Health Sciences North. Wonderful mother to Adele (Chris) and Jocelyne (Matt). Beloved grandmother of Abbigail, Korbyn, Chloe, Dominic and baby Atheena. Born in Sudbury, she was the loving daughter of Aurel (predeceased) and Olivette (Paquet) Poitras. Dear sister of Gisèle, Andre (predeceased), Albert, Geatan (Geatanne), Denis (predeceased), Elise (Maurice), Rejean (Jocelyne), Rachel (Romeo) and Therese (Germain). She will be sadly missed by 17 nieces and nephews.
Mitch’s family meant the world to her, especially the quality time she got to spend with her grandchildren. She loved baking, sewing, crocheting, camping, fishing, taking pictures of family events or animals as well as following her beloved Edmonton Oilers! An outdoor enthusiast, one of her favourite pastimes was going for a walk in nature. She went overboard with decorating at Christmas, there was no shortage of lights and decorations at her place. She had a special place in her heart for her friends, her confidant and her Angel. Mitch will be sadly miss by all those who knew her and loved her.
In keeping with her wishes there will be no visitation. A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at Paroisse Saint-Jacques, 46 Cote Blvd, Hanmer on Friday, November 22, 2024 at 11:00 a.m.
Mitch my dear, we were 1111 friends for some 20+ years and believed on angels looking after us.
Now, you have become 1111 yourself. An angel. Be blessed.
